The Ultimate Fighter 8.05 recap

by Scott on October 16th, 2008

tuf-season-8.jpgWe left off last week with Junie Browning jumping in to the octagon after Shane Nelson Lost to Efrain Escudero. The 5th episode picks back up in the same spot with Nogueira holding browning back. After the dust settled, Nogueira says that Browning is just scared and that he’ll be the next to tap. Dana White isn’t happy with Browning’s actions yet again, but luckily for Browning and Team Mir, Keith Kizer of the Nevada State Athletics Commission wasn’t in the gym that day, otherwise Browning probably would have been suspended and/or eliminated. Browning later apologizes to Frank Mir, but mir is upset and tells him to make it up because this time it made him (Mir) look stupid. Shane Primm (Of Team Nogueira) later talks to Browning, saying that jumping in to the ring like he did was the most disrespectful thing he could do. Browning shows no remorse and tell Primm that there is nobody on that team that can beat him and he’ll prove it.

Back at practice, Coach Nogueira brought in a special guest for practice, UFC Middleweight Champion and undefeated Anderson “The Spider” Silva. Silva work with the team through their paces and then later spars with Ryan Bader.

Back at the house the teams are up to their usual pranks. The teams are using sardines, itching powder and even freezing underwear. Unfortunately for some fighters, the itching powder made it tough for some to sleep. The next day it’s obvious that Escudero didn’t get much rest and Coach Nogueira notices him lying on a bench resting. Later Nogueira and Al “Stankie” go to the house to talk to the teams about the pranks but no one seems to really care.

The next fight has been picked and it pits Light-heavyweight Shane Primm of Team Nogueria Vs. Elliot Marshall of Team Mir. Both fighters weigh in and make weight.

The fight begins and only last about halfway through the first round when Shane Primm comes out aggressive but Elliot Marshall work him to the floor and make him tap for the win with a rear naked choke. Elliot wins and Team Mir takes control of picking the next fight.

This is what the teams are looking like now:
