UFC 89: Bisping Vs. Leben Fight Card
UFC 89: Bisping Vs. Leben will air October 18th at 9pm ET on Spike for free. The main event as obviously stated by the title is Michael "The Count" Bisping Vs. Chris "The Cripler" Leben. Leben hasn’t done too bad for himself since his elimination on The Ultimate Fighter 1. With a professional record of 18-4-0, he’s got a his hands full with British opponent, Bisping. Bisping, the winner of The Ultimate Fighter 3, brings a record of 17-1-0 to the ring and has shown great skill in the octagon, so this should be interesting. If I were to put money on this fight it would be in favor of Bisping. More after the fold…
Keith "The Dean Of Mean" Jardine takes on Brandon "The Truth" Vera who has just came off a two loss streak after beating Reese Andy in his 205 Lb weight class debut. Vera doesn’t have any plans to add another loss to his 9-2-0 record, but Jardine’s not looking to lose either. Jardine is coming into the fight with a loss to Pride Fighting veteran Wanderlei Silva, but just a year ago won by split decision over UFC vet Chuck Liddell. Keith has a fight record of 13-5-1, 5 of those wins and 3 of the losses while in the UFC. Keith Jardine is a strong striker but so is Brandon Vera and Vera’s ground game is strong. I’d put money on Vera for this one.
The rest of the card shapes up like this:
- Rameau Sokoudjou Vs. Luiz Cane
- Paul Taylor Vs. Chris Lytle
- Paul Kelly Vs. Marcus Davis
- Shane Carwin Vs. Neil Wain*
- Dan Hardy Vs. Akihiro Gono*
- Jess Liaudin Vs. David Bielkheden*
- Sam Stout Vs. Terry Etim*
- David Baron Vs. Jim Miller*
- Per Eklund Vs. Samy Schiavo*
* These fights may not be broadcast.
