Gamboa, Barthelemy Remain Undefeated on “Friday Night Fights”
Training partners and Cuban defectors Yuriorkis Gamboa and Yan Barthelemy both earned victories last night on “Friday Night Fights” on ESPN 2 to keep their undefeated records intact.
Gamboa looked the better of the pair, securing a knockout win in the first round of his bout against Johnnie Edwards. Before turning pro Gamboa was a four-time Cuban national champion, a Pan American gold medalist, and the flyweight gold medal winner at the 2004 Olympics. He will next fight in April against former-title challenger Jose Rojas.
Barthelemy defeated Antonio Diaz via unanimous decision.
