Reflecting on 2007
2007 was quite the year for fight sports:
- The UFC continued its strong growth from 2006 with a huge 2007 and many other MMA promotions surfaced looking to challenge the undisputed top-MMA promotion.
- In the WWE injuries and steroids drew more headlines than in-the-ring action with the double murder-suicide involving Chris Benoit drawing massive negative attention to the worlds top sports entertainment brand.
- Boxing in 2007 was highlighted by one man: Floyd Mayweather Jr.. His fights against Ocar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton drew record PPV buys and revenue to highlight his very impressive year.
