Boxing: Abraham Retains Middleweight Crown

by Kris on December 10th, 2007

Arthur Abraham retained his IBF Middleweight Title on Saturday with a knockout win over Wayne Elcock.

Here’s an account of the fight from Yahoo:

After a cagey opening, Abraham (25-0, 20 KOs) sent Elcock down with a straight right in the second round.

The 33-year-old bounced back by landing some nice combinations in the next two rounds, with Abraham picking up a swelling over the right eye following an accidental headbutt.

The champion then turned it on in the fifth. Elcock (18-3) received another count when a big right almost fired him out of the ring. The one-two combination then ended Elcocks quest.
