Boxing: Mayweather Retains Title With 10th Round KO
Floyd Mayweather Jr. retained his welterweight title last night in Las Vegas by knocking out British rival Ricky Hatton in round 10.
After some close rounds early on Mayweather pulled away on the score cards before connecting in the 10th and dropping Hatton. The bout wasn’t over as Hatton answered the standing count dazed but the fight continued briefly before Mayweather unleashed a flurry of punches that forced the referee to step in and stop the bout.
As for the future, Hatton will be moving back to light welterweight while Mayweather is reportedly considering retirement yet again.
