Raw: McMahon Returns; Regal Crowned Raw Commissioner
- William Regal wins company-wide Battle Royal to become Raw Commissioner
- Jillian Hall def. Mickie James
- Snitsky def. Highlander Rory McAllister
- King Booker def. Jerry “The King” Lawler
- WWE Champion John Cena def. Intercontinental Champion Umaga in a non-title match (disqualification)
Mr. McMahon surprisingly had less impact than I expected he would but he was immediately inserted back into the storylines. At the start of the show Mr. McMahon admitted to setting up the explosion that supposedly killed him on Raw 2 months ago. After setting up the battle royal to kick off Raw little was heard from McMahon until the end of the show when he went to get into his limo in a nearly identical scene to the one which “killed” McMahon months ago. Jonathan Coachman interupted the scene to inform Mr. McMahon that he was being served in a paternity dispute and that there may be another McMahon child in the world.
The rest of Raw was average at best. I felt the WWE could have picked a better commissioner than William Regal but he has an authority aura around him so the decision makes sense because they don’t have to work to have him fit into the position. Also they set up a tag team main event for next weeks Raw in Madison Square Garden. John Cena will be teaming up with Umaga to take on Randy Orton and Carlito.
