Wiki Entry Weirdness
Chris Benoit’s Wikipedia entry was edited 14 hours before any bodies were discovered to state that Chris Benoit missed Vengeance due to the death of his wife. Here is the part of the entry that has caught the eyes of investigators:
Chris Benoit was replaced by Johnny Nitro for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.
Wikipedia has apparently contacted authorities and is likely assisting them is sorting the situation out.
It appears likely that it was a coincidence that the entry predicted the death of Benoit’s wife. The poster, whose the IP address originated in Stamford, Connecticut (the same town as WWE HQ), has been known to defame other entries in the past although investigators are sure to fully investigate the link to ensure nothing fishy is going on.
I will update this if anything pans out or is debunked but it is surely an intersting story to follow.
