TNA: Angle Stripped of Title on iMPACT
Last Sunday on Sacrifice Kurt Angle seemingly won the rebranded TNA World Heavyweight Championship after getting Sting to submit just before he got the pin on then champ Christian Cage. The title reign didn’t last long as Angle was stripped of the championship by Jim Cornette on iMPACT. A new champ will be crowned at Slamiversary in June. Leading up to the event on each iMPACT the main event will be a qualifier for the King of the Mountain title match.
TNA seems to be starting a Sting/Christopher Daniels storyline but the exact path isn’t really clear just yet. The two met backstage and discussed advice Sting gave the fallen angel but that is all that was said.
Finally here are the match results for the show:
- Kurt Angle def. Rhino (Slamiversary KOTM Qualifier)
- Christopher Daniels def. Raven
- X Division Champ Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley def. Jerry Lynn and Tiger Mask
Finally, TNA has announced Sting vs. Samoa Joe in a KOTM qualifier, LAX vs. Christian Cage and Tomko, and Kip James and Lance Hoyt vs. Basham and Damaja for next weeks iMPACT.
Here’s a clip of last night’s show:
