New Breed Comes Away with Victory
Here’s the results for this week’s ECW:
- CM Punk def. Stevie Richards
- Snitsky def. Hardcore Holly
- New Breed def. ECW Originals (Extreme Rules Eight-Man Tag Match)
The Punk/Richards match went a little different than I expected. I was expecting Richards to be a jobber but they let him hold his own before finally giving punk the win.
Snitsky won as expected and after the match put Holly’s arm under the steel steps before crushing them down with a chair. This supposedly broke Holly’s arm according to WWE.com and this is probably just intended to give Holly some more hardcore to go into extreme matches and Snitsky a boost for whatever feud he enters, possible for the ECW Championship with Bobby Lashley.
As of right now the Originals/New Breed feud is being continued. I am not sure if this was just as a continuation of their Wrestlemania 23 match and it will be ended soon or if they are planning on keeping it for another PPV or 2. The only real fresh part of this storyline is the New Breed trying to recruit CM Punk but if that’s all this has to offer it’s time to come up with something new.
To me ECW has very little direction to do from here unless they get some new people on the roster with an expected rotation of wrestlers in the next month or two. That would give ECW a fresh look and perhaps some new storylines because as we sit right now I just don’t see where they will be going from here.
