Shawn Michaels Delivers Sweet Chin Music…To His Partner
Last night’s Raw was one of the best episodes in my opinion since the hype for Wrestlemania 23 began nearly 2 months ago. Here are the results:
- Torrie Wilson & Candice Michelle & Ashley def. Women’s Champion Melina & Victoria & Jillian
- CM Punk def. Kenny Dykstra
- Mr. McMahon def. ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley (No Disqualification Match)
- Mr. Kennedy & Randy Orton def. The Hardys
- The Great Khali def. Ric Flair (DQ)
- World Heavyweight Champion Batista & Undertaker def. World Tag Team Champions Shawn Michaels & John Cena
It was great to see WWE load the card up with matches for once as opposed to 2 hour+ shows with only 4 matches. In the main event Undertaker left first leaving partner Batista in the ring with Shawn Michaels and John Cena. After the duo delivered 5 knuckle shuffles to seemingly finish off Batista Michaels turned the tables kicking Cena in the face.
Batista recovered from the earlier attack to cover Cena and earn the win. Lashley was just decimated in his match as it was made no rules and Umaga came to the ring to attack the ECW champion. This was not the result I was expecting but it did give Umaga a nice boost given Lashley has been getting almost all of the push before this.
The only match news we got was that the match for the Women’s championship would be a lumberjills match. WWE needs to add some matches ASAP or Wresltlemania could be pretty lackluster this year aside from the 3 “top-tier” matches.
