Late ECW Recap
I have been a bit lax this week with providing timely results mainly because it was midterms and I was swamped but here is this weeks ECW results as well as some commentary:
- Rob Van Dam def. Kevin Thorn
- CM Punk def. Johnny Nitro in a Money in the Bank qualifying match
- La Resistance def. Los Luchas
- ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley def. Hardcore Holly & Mr. Kennedy (Triple Threat Match)
After seeing CM Punk win the shot at the Money in the Bank match as well as the result from tonight’s SmackDown where King Booker and Kane will square off for a spot it is obvious WWE is going in a completely different direction with the match than I anticipate. Not bad. Yet. Just different.
No surprise with the Lashley win. I mean we knew Kennedy wouldn’t win since he is not going to move to ECW but I think it is getting time for a title change and Wrestlemania will be the place to do it. ECW has had just three champs since coming back last summer and they were RVD, Big Show, and now Lashley. RVD was by far the fan favorite and will probably get in the hunt again soon. His drug arrest cost him the title in the first place and if it weren’t for that who knows who would have the title now.
The La Resistance debut was nothing spectacular as Sylvan and Renee Dupree tagged to beat some jobbers. Snitsky beat down the jobbers in the ring and I am hoping he makes his debut this week or next. Not bad, not good. ECW was ok.
