Wrestling Society X “Debuts” Tonight
Tonight will be the debut of new wrestling promotion Wrestling Society X on MTV at 10:30. The show aired its first episode on Sunday but tonight will be its official debut in its regular timeslot. It will be in direct competition with ECW as it stands right now but I would not be surprised to see it shift to Wednesdays where there is no direct wrestling competition.
I caught the first showing of it and it isn’t too bad. Gave me a feeling similar to TNA as a matter of fact. They pulled of some nice moves some promos don’t do but they felt like they were being sold a little too much. The only thing I saw that I didn’t really like was the overuse of pyrotechnics on the show but I can deal with that. I will post the results for the show tomorrow since I don’t want to give anything away but here is a preview for the episode. Keep in mind, the show is only 30 minutes long so this will limit the number of matches signifigantly.
The first match of the night will be Jack Evans taking on Matt Sydal (w/ Lizzy Valentine). The main event is the WSX rumble which, like the Royal Rumble, competitors must be put over the top rope to be eliminated. 10 competitors in this one including Teddy Hart, 6-Pac, and Justin Credible. Match includes tables, ladders, electric wires, and “explosives” and they will be trying to get their hands on contracts suspended from the ceiling. The winners will face of next week for the WSX title.
