ECW Wrapup
What an end to last night’s ECW on SciFi…yeah right. That ending had to arguably be one of the worst I have seen in recent time. So what was it all about? Well Bobby Lashley retained his title which I pretty much expected but the way ECW did it was lame. It went down something like this: RVD took to the ring against Bobby Lashley in his first one-on-one attempt at the belt since the “South Philly Screwjob”. Well after fighting for a few minutes in the ring Van Dam set up to attempt an aerial maneuver aimed at Lashley towards the announcers table.
After landing the move the ref called it off saying both were hurt. What? I know you have to cut the show at 5 after 11 but really there couldn’t be a better ending than that? So needless to say Lashley retained the gold despite how it occurred.
To start the show Test took the mic to respond to his loss in the three way vote two weeks ago. After stating he didn’t need fan support he proceeded to defeat Sabu in a 1-on-1 match.
In the stands was Vladamir Kozlov a new wrestler who WWE has been introducing over the past few weeks on all of its shows. It is not yet known what show he will end up with but I would venture a guess it will be coming in the coming weeks.
Tommy Dreamer made an announcement via video call that he would return to ECW to take out the Great Khali. Khali took Dreamer out a few weeks ago by throwing him onto the ring steps.
The long anticipated match between CM Punk and Hardcore Holly has finally been announced and it will be taking place on next Tuesday’s episode.
In other matches Sylvester Terkay and Elijah Burke beat the F.B.I. in tag team action and Kevin Thorne beat Balls Mahoney in a single match.
Not a bad week for ECW overall not counting the main event. Lot’s of feuds and future matches were set up in the action and commentary which should lead to an interesting next couple of weeks on the show.
