The Best Boxing Film Series - Rocky
Us sports bloggers at b5 have decided to do a theme day on the favorite movies about our sports. Being that I blog about boxing and wrestling I seem to have one logical choice, Rocky. Now let me set the record straight, Rocky is not the only movie about boxing and wrestling but I feel it is the best set of films. Now Rocky was definitely a good movie and if you haven’t seen it you are truly missing out. The middle movies went down a bit from the original in quality, especially the 5th one but a savior is on the horizon.
This past week Rocky Balboa, the 6th movie in the series of film hit the big screen and although I haven’t had a chance to see it yet it seems to fulfill the typical “rocky” storyline although it is an improvement over the latter films from the series.
So what do I find so enjoyable about the series of films. Great actor in Sylvester Stallone, great plots, great writing, all around great series. So what do you think? Do you have a favorite boxing or wrestling movie? Like Rocky? Seen the new movie? Feel free to comment on this post about your favorite sports movies.

I really liked the original Rocky, and Rocky II was pretty good also. The third and fourth were kind of silly (especially the Dolph Lundgren Cold War stuff) but still fun. The first one, though, was great — really nice story of an underdog struggling to make something of himself.
