RVD Gets Shot at ECW World Champion Lashley
Opening the show Lashley took to the ring expressing how he will defend the title and his pride of participating with WWE and their Tribute to the Troops special. After his speech the ECW champion took on Renee Dupree decimating the Frenchman in a show of Lashley’s strength.
Next, Matt Striker took on Balls Mahoney. Striker triumphed over the ECW veteran several days after Striker took a cheap shot on Balls. The Great Khali made his ECW in ring debut this week beating “the reject” Shannon Moore. While Khali was pinning Moore, Tommy Dreamer came to ring side steel chair in hand and attacked Khali’s henchman Davari. Dreamer then tried the same on the attacking Khali but failed allowing Khali to control the situation and double choke slam dreamer onto the steel ring steps. EMTs then rushed to the ring to stabilize Dreamer’s neck and back.
In the last match of the night the three ECW vote canidates, Test, RVD, and Sabu, went head to head. After a back and fourth match Test took advantage and pinned Sabu for the win. RVD was then announced as the winner of a chance to take on Lashley in two weeks for the ECW World Championship. Test, angered by the fans’ decision, kicked RVD in the face and then left the ring side.
Next week, ECW will air a “Best of ECW” show in the show’s normal time slot and the show will air at its normal time in two weeks.
