Arum, Mike Tyson, and The Contender
Here’s a short little round up on what happened in the world of boxing in the past few days/weeks.
I’m going out for the weekend so I’m trying to fit everything in a nice little box with a bow on top.
Is Arum gonna sue?
After the Golden Boy confirmed his deal with Pacquiao, Arum came charging that there was a breach of contract between him and Pacquiao. Arum is still the guy promoting Pacquiao’s fight against Morales. He says that there’s a provision in Pacquiao’s contract that he can’t sign with any other promoter until after their fight with Morales.
We’ll have to tune in.
Mike Tyson’s World Tour
Funny how it seems that long ago Mike Tyson was on top of the world then in one instant it all came crashing down. He is now launching a series of exhibition bouts to pay his long list of creditors. The tour will involve fights against sparring partners and other officially sanctioned fights.
Now who’s excited? I still think he has a bad ass tattoo but that’s it.
Grady Brewer Wins Contender Finale
Brewer beat Stevie Forbes in the Contender finale by a split decision after 10 rounds. It was a close fight that could’ve gone either way.
Other stuff about the Contender:
- Was there a Rocky Balboa trailer at the end?
- K9 demolished Bravo, who was the crowd favorite, in the first event.
