The Rock’s Gridiron Gang
It’s time to get of my ass and actually write something. If you remember a few posts back I told you guys that I’m going to talk about WWE wrestlers dipping their hands into action well if you were waiting for it then I guess todays your lucky day.
Anyway, The Rock has a new movie out and it’s called Gridiron Gang. Here’s the long and short of it. It’s about a group of teenagers at a juvenile detention center where Rock works as a counselor. One day he had this “brilliant” idea of building up their confidence by forming a football team.
Pretty simple plot dontcha think? Simple enough to be a hit. In case you also didn’t know, it opened number 1 in the US. Oh, I also forgot, Xzibit is also in the movie.
Pimped cars for everyone after they get out of the juvy!
Out of all movies of the rock, I decided to single this out because this, after all, is a sports-related movie. It’s kinda like “The Longest Yard” involving prisoners, sports, and a “last chance to do something with your life” theme going on.
I’m not going to nitpick the movie about it’s plot, acting, or something else. After all The Rock and Xzibit are on this movie. What more can you expect?
Just enjoy this movie as it is — a feel good movie with a few action scenes here and there. Don’t expect drama. Well you could expect some comedy in there if The Rock starts crying. A few people think that The Rock is the new Stallone/Schwarzenegger and I have to agree.
No rankings. No judgment whatsoever. You + nothing else to do + no other movies available = Watch Gridiron Gang. That’s of course if you have a few bucks to spare.
