Mosley TKOs Vargas
Just like in the first fight, Sugar Shane Mosley was the better fighter than Fernando Vargas in their rematch bout on Saturday. It seems that all the fights Vargas was in the past continue to haunt him.
Oscar De La Hoya’s left hook against Vargas several years ago that sent him down was the same left hook thrown by Mosley in this bout. Mosley caught Vargas’ chin and went down in the sixth round.
The rematch proved to be one sided.
The judges scored all five rounds for Mosley before the KO. Mosley just looked faster and landed more shots than Vargas. This could be the end of Vargas’ career. It was also interesting to note that Mosley’s father was back in his corner and proved to be an inspiration for Mosley.
On to other matches…
WBA lightweight titleholder Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz out punched Randy Suico of the Philippines to cause the referee to stop the fight in the ninth round. Although Suico was not the same slow footed Suico we know, Diaz was quicker. According to his manager, Suico was not seriously hurt and could go on fighting. The big difference is that Diaz was just quicker and threw more punches than Suico.

I had no doubt in my mind Shane was gonna deliver again and in a much better fashion. I like Vargas’s ferocity in the ring but a more intelligent fighter who has more boxing skills will always come out a winner. This was proved again in their rematch.
As for Suico, his management should seriously think of changing his trainer. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing at Suico’s corner. His trainer’s instructions were really bereft of any concept of changing the fight strategy since it was apparently not working.
Suico should improve his footwork more and should hook up with trainers like Roach.

Yeah I forgot to include it. The fight lasted just about a few seconds. Caught Looknongyangtoy’s chin then bam! Sweet.
