Mosley-Vargas II
This coming Saturday will be the second part of the Mosley-Vargas saga from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
I have to admit, I didn’t see their first fight. From what I’ve read, heard and by watching the highlights, It was an ok fight. Both fighters have much to prove because they are already old. Time is definitely not on their side. They are both in a way past their primes already but are still capable of giving a good fight. In a way, they have nothing to lose so this will really be as competitive as it gets.
The early stoppage due to the swollen eye definitely added some spice to the fight. The first fight, in my opinion, was dead even up to the referee stoppage. As you know, I am fond of just letting fights and games continue without any referee interference. Both fighters are warriors so he should’ve allowed them to continue box.
I know Mosley definitely has a mental advantage due to his first win over Vargas but I am rooting for Vargas to win. In this way we will have a nice ending trilogy to this fight.

Ron,
used to follow heavyweight boxing as a kid. what has happened? where have all the great heavyweight fighters gone? Ali, Norton, Foreman, Frazier, Holmes, etc. seems like nowadays the wrestling is real and boxing is fixed. Its like Tyson came along and everybody else just left. love your blog, am a regular visitor.

I know what you mean. I feel the same way. Here’s some of my posts a few weeks back in which I talked about this.

It’s a shame really. There are some people saying that UFC is now more popular than boxing which is just sad.
