RVD ECW Champ No More

by Ron on July 5th, 2006

It’s weird how the world turns.

One minute you’re at the top of the world then suddenly you’re down and out. Well, I think that’s how Rob Van Dam feels right now.

Just a few days ago, RVD and Sabu was pulled over by the Ohio State Patrol for speeding. But as troopers were approaching the vehicle, they smelled pot. After performing a search, authorities found RVD and Sabu in possession of pot and Vicodin.

Of course, the WWE said in an official announcement that they will investigate RVD and Sabu. The result of the investigation? Sabu was fined and RVD suspended for 30 days.

To make matters worse, RVD just lost his ECW Championship to the Big Show with the help of Paul Heyman who seemed to also lost faith in RVD. In their match for the ECW Championship, when the referee got knocked out cold by the Big Show, Paul Heyman served as the interim referee when RVD hit his soaring Frog Splash on the Big Show. Heyman counted to two…but stopped short of three, to the disbelief of ECW fans.

Big Show hit RVD with a chair then a chokeslam as Heyman counted to three.

This is the result of a costly joyride, well I hope it was worth it. They made this match to usher out RVD’s suspension. I hope he has fun watching WWE matches on TV.

The history is RVD was always a weed-head. Go check out some of the older ECW videos and you will see his eyes were never clear. Even though it isn’t talked about as much as it was drug usage is big in wrestling.

    Think about it…

All of the bumps they take and the numerous injuries they sustain doing them over and over, and over again…

Face it some old habits never change but ECW today IS NOT and WILL NOT be the ECW of old. Vince is driving the bus now and he is definately not going to allow stuff like this to happen.

At least RVD will have some time to smoke through it…

yeah, I know. There were also some rumors that Eddie Guerrero OD’d himself. Of course this is purely speculation. With the pain they suffer from the matches, it must be some kind of relaxation for them to smoke some. Well, that’s life.
