Bulls on Parade
They looked like caged bulls let out for the very first time.
They fought with intensity. They fought whole-heartedly. They fought for their country.
It was 3-0 for the Filipinos as all the Filipino fighters beat their respective opponents in undercard matches for Pacquiao-Larios.
The returning Gerry Penalosa after a 2 year hiatus also beat Tomas Rojas while Jimrex Jaca won on a seventh-round technical decision over Hector Marquez. Jaca was cut by an accidental headbutt that went to the scorecards. Replacement Michael Domingo also beat Alejandro Felix Montiel with the referree stepping in to stop the fight in round seven.
In a night where Pacquiao shined, let us remember that there were other Filipinos that also made the Philippines proud.
Mabuhay kayong lahat!

Great blog, Ron!
Just a minor correction though >> It should be a 5-0 shut out and not 3-0 in the Philippine - Mexico cards:
Gerry Penalosa (RP) vs. Tomy Rojas (Mex) - UD win
Czar Amonsot (RP) vs. Silverio Ortiz (Mex) - UD win
Jimrex Jaca (RP) vs. Hector Marquez (Mex) - UD via technical decision stoppage due to head butt
Manny Pacquiao (RP) vs. Oscar Larios (Mex) - UD win with 2 knockdowns
Michael Domingo (RP) vs. Alejandro Montiel (Mex) - 7th round TKO win
Although it appears that Mexico received a 1-sided beating, it wasn’t really the case. The Mexican boxers showed true grit, courage, intensity and great native American spirit and my hat is off to each one of them.
It was a glorious day for Philippine boxing. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! =)

I might’ve missed the other fight because I left early. Oh well. Thanks for the update. Yes, we should not take anything away from the Mexicans. They have few of the best boxers in the world.
