Ray “Boom-Boom” Bautista

by Ron on June 27th, 2006

With all the hype surrounding the Pacquiao-Larios fight, it’s worth mentioning that someone may one day follow the footsteps of Manny Pacquiao.

His name? Ray “Boom-Boom” Bautista.

He is just 19 but his record is now 20-0-0 and 15 of them by KOs. He is trained by Freddie Roach and is promoted by the Golden Boy Oscar de la Hoya.

He is the Pacquiao vs Larios undercard and is up against Felix Montiel also in Araneta Coliseum Philippines in July 2.

Get ready for some “boom-boom” action.

See a clip of one of his recent fights here.

Too bad we won’t see him fight because he was just recently rushed to the hospital. I think he was sick. So someone will replace him in the fight - Malcolm Tunacao.

Unfortunately, Boom boom has been replaced by Malcolm Tunacao. Boom boom was rushed to the hospital this week due to flu and his handlers thought it best to have him rest for now. This is a good call given that his most recent fight was just some weeks ago.

This recent development somehow took away some luster from the fight cards but as it stands now the set of undercards of Pac’s fight is still very attractive and worth the PPV status.
