Hulkamania in Manila!
I know we’ll all be dancing with glee like a bunch of monkeys in the rain to hear that Hulk Hogan is coming to Manila.
Say what?
Let me repeat that for a second. I just said that Hulk Hogan is coming to Manila!
Hooray! Ok, maybe not.
When I told my friends, some of them were less excited about it. “He’s old,” one of them said. Point taken. But you should still be a teeny-weeny bit excited that he is coming over.
I think one of the reasons why others are not that big on him is because most of them are still starry eyed when RAW came to Manila for their Asian Tour. Araneta Coliseum, where coincidentally the Pacquiao-Larios match will also take place, was packed when those guys came over. A lot of them got pictures with Triple H, Carlito, and whole bunch of other guys from RAW. The death of Eddie Guerrero was still fresh during this time so a lot of people have their “I’m Your Papi!” shirts on for the show. (This whole topic deserves another post and it will, promise.)
If you compare that with the guys coming over then you’ll notice the difference. The line-up of the superstars coming consists of Hulk Hogan, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Iron Sheik, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Jimmy Superfly Snuka, Test, Billy Gun, and King Kong Bundy.
Also, one of my friend asked me, “I though King Kong Bundy already died?” Apparently not.
I just wanna see Hogan do his famous pose together with ripping his shirt off and topping it by doing that “can you hear me” gesture.
Then it’ll be all worth it.
