Fight Follow-up

by Sean on May 9th, 2006

Yes I have dropped another one again. Big Sean’s follow-up n Saturday’s fight between Oscar De La Hoya vs. Ricardo Mayorga. I have also decided to touch on TNA Wrestling, WWE & ECW wrestling briefly. I hope to have my wife show up one day on this.

Hope you enjoy. Comments welcomed.

Ive been hearing the Mayweather vs. De La Hoya rumors for a week now, they seemed to pop up around the time Mayweather turned down 8million to fight Antonio Margrito. Alot of people were bashing Mayweather for that but hes just in it for the money, supposedly the purse would be around 23million with ODLH!

Judging by Mayweathers performance against Judah and DLHs against Mayorga I would have to put my money on DLH. Mayweather showed his flaws too much against Judah and DLH showed us hes still active and is aging gracfully.

    Upcoming fights:
This Saturday: Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton vs. Luis Collazo (WBA Welterweight belt) Alot of people predict Hatton to walk through Collazo, but he has the perfect style against Hatton, I still predict late KO/TKO for Hatton. I do expect him to lose first couple of rounds though.

May 20, 2006 (HBO) Marco Antonio Barrera (61-4) vs. Rocky Juarez (25-1): Hope Barrera wins

June 3, 2006 (Showtime) Jose Luis Castillo (54-7-1) vs. Diego Corrales (40-3)
(WBC Lightweight belt): Undecided on this one, will be a fight to remember for sure.

(Showtime) Vic Darchinyan (25-0) vs. Luis Maldonado (33-0-1)
(IBF Flyweight belt): Im going with Vic

Nikolay Valuev (43-0) vs. Owen Beck (25-2)
(WBA Heavyweight belt): Predict Valuev to win by decision, but Id rather have Beck win. I dont want Valuev to match Rocky Marcianos career benchmark of 49-0

June 10, 2006 (PPV) Antonio Tarver (24-3) vs Bernard Hopkins (46-4-1)
(PPV) Miguel Cotto (26-0) vs. Paul Malignaggi (21-0)

June 17, 2006 (HBO) Jermain Taylor (25-0) vs. Winky Wright (50-3)
    (WBC Middleweight belt): Winky!

June 24, 2006 (HBO) Calvin Brock (28-0) vs. Timur Ibragimov (21-0): Predict Brock to win but either of them are really tested, wouldn’t be all that surprised is Timur won. Im more intrested in Timurs cousin Sultan Ibragimov.

July 2, 2006 Manny Pacquiao (41-3-2) vs. Oscar Larios (56-4-1): Manny for sure.

July 22, 2006 (HBO) Carlos Baldomir (42-9-6) vs. Arturo Gatti (40-7)
(WBC Welterweight belt): Baldomir by pretty large margin. I have alot of respect for Gatti though.

August 12, 2006(PPV) Hassim Rahman (41-5-2) vs. Oleg Maskaev (32-5)
(WBC Heavyweight belt): Im expecting Rahman to get his revenge on Oleg. Oleg is past his prime at the age of 37 but has taken on impressive opposition in his last 10 fights and won. I do expect Rahman to win this fight.

Heres a question for you Seaniemo, how do you feel about the “Legends Card,” that will feature Roy Jones Jr. and Evander Holyfield on the same night? It will be independly televised on PPV not under HBO PPV because its seem more as a sideshow performance. Im not really all that interested in it because both men are living legends that have shown they were not a fraction of their former selves in their last couple of fights. Their opponents re just looking to add a legends name to their resumes. I think they may win though because their opposition is to say the least, pitiful. Ive actually heard RJJ wants to fight Joe Calzaghie, that will be a huge mistake. I dont want Roy to finally finish his career like that.

    July 29, 2006
    At TBA
(PPV) Roy Jones Jr. (49-4) vs. Prince Badi Ajamu (25-2-1)
(PPV) Evander Holyfield (38-8-2) vs. Kenny Keene (50-3)

    Happy Birthday!!!
